I’m a Red Sox Fan… not one of those who has been since the day I was born, but a fan nonetheless.

I really enjoy watching a game with my wife and having a few beers, yelling at the TV and watching some really good baseball.

I REALLLY enjoy going to Fenway to watch a game.   Fenway is one of my favorite places in the world.   It just has so much history, it’s cool.

So, each year, I try to get at least one game in.   Over the past several years, it’s the Patriot’s Day game, which coincides with the Boston Marathon.   For those of you not from Massachusetts,   Patriots Day is a State Holiday.   Banks, Post Office, Schools are all closed to observe the holiday.   It is one of the only times I can take the kids to an early game!

What does this have to do with my subject you might ask?   Well, I’m glad you asked!

I’ve been trying to purchase tickets all day today.   Not that I’ve been sitting at my desk that entire time!   No, it’s much better than that!   When I followed the link on the email that said single game day tickets were going on sale today at 10am, I went to the “Boston Red Sox Virtual Waiting Room!”.   That was 10am… on Saturday, January 26th… If you look at the post date/time it is now 12:20am January 27, 2008 – guess what?   I’m STILL WAITING!!!!!!

How ridiculous is it that in 14 hours, I still have not had the opportunity to purchase ONE lousy ticket???   As I’m sitting here writing this entry, I have two browser windows open with the ticker ticking down from 30 seconds (doing an auto-refresh every 30 secs.) and neither of them has changed, at all, ever, not even to say “PSYCH” and then return me to the queue.

Oh well, I guess I’ll wind up having to pay $50/ea. for $26 tickets because I have – once again – been duped into thinking that anyone but scalpers can get thru to actually purchase tickets.

Yeah, I’ve looked at eBay and StubHub and they most certainly have tickets, but at WAY MORE then I want to pay, for sure.

Anybody want to take my Virtual place in line and wait a bit more for me???

Better yet, anybody want to split one of these lovely packages I found on Craigslist.org:
